My first semester back in school has concluded, the class time anyway. I can say that it was an amazing experience and it only whetted my appetite for more. The class I was most surprised by was my Intro to Algebra class. Back in high school my math skills sucked to high hell, and coming into the class I had pretty much forgotten everything about algebra except that you could substitute a number for a variable. In the end, I rocked that shit hardcore. I breezed through the two parts of my final exam really confidently, and left the classroom for the last time with a very firm handshake from the professor and the class and section number for his Math 1000 next semester. "I really enjoyed having you as a student."
College Composition surprised me as well. The fear of writing was a major factor in my hesitancy to return to school over the years. The timing was right and my confidence and drive had to be in line, so here we are. I think I will end up with a least a B in this class. Almost all of my papers got a 10/10 grade, only one had a 9/10. I still have to type up a final draft and work cited page for a persuasive essay to be submitted electronically to the professor by noon on Monday. It's the only paper I wasn't really confident on.
(As I promised some people, I will let you read my Critique/Summary papers on CM Punk/Jeff Hardy after I get my grades.)
All in all, two full classes, one activities class (softball), and one dropped Transition to College class, and one great Semester.
Next semester is a full twelve credit work load and prayers that the Unemployment Tuition Waiver program kicks in to cover it.
Wish me luck folks.
Sincerely,
Christian, Freshman, Kean University
